Many of the motorists who could not join the endless queue during the day preferred to stay overnight. Some stations, however, were locked, claiming that they did not have any petrol. Some other stations are selling to the black marketers who corner the market in order to make profit from the scarcity.
At the start of the industrial action yesterday, members of the unions shut down oil depots in Lagos, thereby making supply to all parts of the country difficult. The National Executive Committee of the union is presently meeting in Abuja to decide if the strike will be called off or continued. Many stakeholders have appealed to the union to suspend the strike in the interest of the masses.
